Implementing innovation strategies, Tyler has helped a number of Canada’s largest companies transform. Most notably, Tyler has spearheaded and grown multiple concepts across Canada, and has brought that rich experience in innovation as the Chief Operating Officer at FGS. In collaboration with clients, Tyler has led numerous projects through from ideation to commercialization, that have grown to help deliver significant value to innovation clients and their customers. Tyler is also a Business Model Canvas and Value Proposition design expert. Tyler holds a degree in Finance from Dalhousie University and certificates in Finance and Accounting from Grenoble École de Management, and Entrepreneurship from Norman Newman Centre for Entrepreneurship.

Gary is in charge of special projects as well as keeping the office running in harmony with nature and making employee candy appear (and disappear). Gary has a background in sales and marketing and was a stay at home dad, so he is a nurturer and can quote Chaucer and Elvis. He is passionate about the FGS innovation process and showing corporate incumbents how to buy in-to the process.
As CEO & Founder of FGS, Sue is passionate about working with all sizes of companies in FinTech to help them accelerate growth and innovate new business techniques. Sue was Head of Innovation for D+H (now Finastra), SVP and GM of a startup business unit she created for Broadridge that grew to $40 Million in revenue in 24 months, and has spent 25 years in various corporate executive positions and new startup roles.
RACHEL CORVINELLIAs an Analyst, Rachel is dedicated to providing support to the FinTech Growth Syndicate team. Through her role, she has had the opportunity to engage with a number of FinTech startups and incumbents and has contributed to the upkeep of FinTech databases for both FGS and respective clients. Rachel is a graduate from Queen’s University and has recently been admitted to a Graduate program at Schulich School of Business at York University.
Steve studied illustration and design at Sheridan College. Steve’s background focuses on providing clients with up-to-date marketing tactics, coordinating with multi-faceted designers to execute tailored digital and print media campaigns, as well as providing professional design and marketing services to proprietors and industry leaders. Combining his agency and consulting experience, he has serviced a wide range of private and public sector clients across a global network. Sectors that he has designed and executed strategies for include; pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, financial services, energy, broadcasting, transportation, health care, post-secondary, government and municipal.
SPENCER GILESSpencer is our intern and a student at the University of Toronto. He is involved in multiple projects assisting different teams wherever he can, including building out our database. He is a team player who is driven to provide the best product and experience possible to the client.
JUANITA GLEDHILLJuanita holds an Honours B.A. in English and Political Science from McMaster University, Certification in Human Resources Management from Mohawk College and received her CHRP designation in January 2004 and her CHRL designation in 2014. Juanita is the recipient of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal (2002) for community service. In February 2004, Juanita was awarded the Ross A. Hennigar Memorial Award by the Human Resources Professional Association, in recognition of her academic, career and community service achievements in the field of Human Resources. Her experience includes operational and executive leadership in public sector organizations, Information Technology firms, and community social and health services.
Kate is passionate about technology, entrepreneurship and showcasing Canada as a leader in innovation. Kate has successfully worked within the North American tech ecosystem for 10-years in roles relating to innovation, community growth and building early to growth stage companies.
PIERRE JOYALPierre Joyal is a knowledge and information management consultant with extensive expertise in taxonomy, classification, pre/post coordinated indexing, electronic record/document management, planning and evaluation, and e-business applications, leveraging more than 25 years of experience gained while working in various roles at the Canadian House of Commons. Through his consulting practice Pierre has worked with industry leaders in financial services, energy, charitable organizations, and publishers. Pierre holds a post graduate degree in knowledge management from the Robert Gordon University Aberdeen Business School and undergraduate degrees in Project Management and Social Sciences from the University of Ottawa. Pierre is fluent in French and English.
JÉRÔME MALAISEJérôme brings a wealth of experience in product management, business development and investment advisory acquired within a leading bank & wealth management firm and FinTech start-ups in France, Belgium, and the UK. As a Product Management and Business Development Lead he was instrumental in co-launching TrackInsight, a Digital ETF selection platform, and helping them to raise EUR 2.5 million in equity as part of their Series A funding round. Jérôme is a CFA charter holder and holds a BBA and an MSc in Finance from EDHEC Business School in France.
Ainsley brings six years of marketing communications, project management and public relations experience to the FGS team. She has Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto with a Specialist in Human Geography, and a post-graduate certificate in Corporate Communications and Public Relations from Centennial College.
FRUZAN NIJRABIFruzan’s international experience includes digital marketing, FinTech market research and innovation. She is dedicated to building a stronger Canadian FinTech ecosystem through innovation, entrepreneurship, diversity, and inclusion. Having lived in Russia, China, and the US, she developed a good perception of different cultures and learned to speak multiple languages. Fruzan has an MSc in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Manchester, UK and a BCom (Honours) Degree in Marketing from York University, Canada.
TRACY PLOURDETracy brings her broad range of accounting skills and experience to the FGS team. She obtained a BA at Wilfrid Laurier University, earned her CGA designation and is currently a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. Tracy started her career in public practice, specializing in small-to-medium business clients. From there, she moved on to private industry in the roles of controller and manager of finance. Tracy brings more than 15 years of accounting experience and expertise to her work at FGS.
For Carol, it’s all about the customer. As a customer experience practitioner, Carol works with companies of all sizes, across various industries, to achieve customer-driven growth and bottom line success. She is recognized for her ability to align company goals with customer needs to uncover hidden insights to develop and deliver impactful customer programs that promote customer retention, value delivered, and loyalty. Carol held leadership roles spanning the customer lifecycle for industry leaders such as Adobe, SAP, Irdeto, Finastra as well as some of the most innovative technology start-ups.
RYAN WILSONRyan brings 20 years of digital innovation experience, from the early.com days in the 90’s launching portals and digital customer experiences for a number of Canadian media conglomerates, to living through the app frenzy at the turn of the millennium creating both native and hybrid apps. Having worked in banking, brokerage and personal finance as well as the pension world Ryan has a diverse FI background and has been a signifiant driving force for a number of organizations. Most recently driving innovation at Canada’s first co-creation innovation lab for the future of insurance.
JOHN MASCHKEJohn is a technology business analytics consultant and leader, with over 20 years experience leveraging BI environments to create insightful analytics, visually strong dashboards, and enhanced reporting capabilities. To John communication and data literacy are just as important as the tools and technology, and he is a passionate specialist within all of these areas. He is excited to see how new technology and data can enable organizations to truly transform and disrupt, allowing for quick pivots and new business revenue streams that were never thought possible.
HENNI TERNESSHenni comes to FGS with more than 15 years of Project and Operations Management in Marketing Agencies spanning a variety of clients, projects, team types and sizes and has executed award-winning digital and multi-channel campaigns and products across a broad range of industries. She loves picking apart workflows to optimize existing and establish new processes, define operational systems, best practices and digging into all things nerdy that lead to effective work. You’ve got a business machine, Henni will find the oil for it. When she is not delivering projects or processes for FGS, she will analyze dance steps, best ways to intrepidly see the world, mix unlikely social circles and volunteers to organize less business-y endeavours.
Simon is currently President BAL Consulting, a boutique consulting firm which corporations and start ups with innovation and strategy. He was most recently the Assistant Vice President, Strategic Initiatives for Manulife Financial where he was responsible for strategic planning and development for the Insurance and Investment businesses as well as leading the digital solutions, advisor experience and regulatory and public affairs teams.
He has worked in the financial services industry for 20 years and has a diverse background in banking, investment management, and group pension/benefits where he has held a variety of senior positions in strategy, product, business development, operations, and project management.
Simon holds a Masters of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University is a CFP (Certified Financial Planner) and PMP (Project Management Professional). Simon is currently involved in a number of roles in the Kitchener Waterloo tech ecosystem which includes acting as a corporate engagement specialist at the Accelerator Centre and a leadership coach at Communitech.
Jacqui is sought out for her ability to grasp the subtle and broader implications of a situation through listening and insightful probing. She gets to the core of issues and identifies the most impactful solutions, all with a sense of humour. Before starting JAd’E Communications, she was the Chief Communications Officer for Deloitte Canada for 10 years and enjoyed a 20-year career with P&G. She is a registered professional engineer, is accredited with the International Association of Business Communicators and was honoured with the designation, Master Communicator, in 2008.
SAMANTHA DENHAMLightbulb Marketing is led by industry-veteran Samantha Denham. With over two decades of marketing communications expertise in the financial services, she brings a keenly analytical and strategic view to all that she does. She has deep expertise in all facets of marketing communications from strategic planning to tactical execution. Deep expertise in business development, writing, sales engagement, product launches and overall project execution in the financial services industries globally (Canada, US, UK, Germany and Hong Kong). She began her career in Hong Kong, with clients such as Credit Suisse Private Banking, learning about the unique needs of the Asian financial services industry and Chinese investors. Over 20 years experience in digital including social media, ecommerce, mobile and online lending. Gary is proud to have worked for many wonderful companies including LinkedIn, Rogers, Bell Media, Cineplex and OnDeck Capital. He currently serves on a volunteer basis with the Canadian Lending Association and the Canadian Professional Sales Association.
Philippe’s work, is launching and stewarding disruptive brands. Philippe co-brand-engineered the first ING DIRECT on the planet and creative directed the brand for over 13 years in Canada and in the U.S. He positioned, named and launched Intact Insurance, Canada’s largest home and auto insurer as well as Borrowell.com. Other brands Philippe has helped engineer include FundThrough, Zag Bank, Veriday, Horizn, finn.ai., D+H, Portage and the Canadian fintech awards.
Prior to joining FGS, Jeff was Managing Director of the FinTech cluster at MaRS Discovery District where he led MaRS through the fastest growth cycle in its 10 year history. Jeff’s 25 years of leadership experience spans three startups and five Fortune 100 firms in the communications, technology and financial service industries. His management responsibilities have crossed 30 countries, covering marketing, segment management, product development, information security, application development, manufacturing, service delivery and strategic planning.
